In this case study, the matter involved a farmer operating within a mid-sized municipality who had been billed on an incorrect (and significantly more expensive) industrial tariff. A dispute was then lodged on the client’s behalf, challenging both the applicability of the tariff and the historic charges as a result.

- The client’s tariff has been corrected to a Time-of-Use tariff going forward;
- The Municipality has confirmed that electricity supply will not be disconnected, provided current consumption is paid.
This outcome essentially provides the client with immediate financial relief and protection against disconnection, while preserving their right to have the historic charges properly reviewed and adjusted.
